8 & UNDERS GET CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON STARTED;

RJ FRESEN & WENZEL LEAD ELITE:

 

            After 7 months of training, the Elite Swim Club began its championship season last weekend as the 8 & Unders participated in the Mini-Championships held at Seton Hall University.

 

            7 year old Jack Wenzel and 8 year old RJ Fresen led Elite’efforts. In placing 2nd in the 25 yard fly (18.75), 7 year old Wenzel scored the highest place for Elite on the day. Wenzel followed up with a 4th place finish in the 25 free (17.82) and 4 best times in 4 swims. 

 

RJ showed his endurance in touching 4th in the 100 yard back (1.44.02). Fresen followed up with a 10th place finish in the 100 free (1.26.31) and a 16th place in the 100 IM (1.42.21).

 

8 year old Megan Balbo placed 11th in the 100 breast (1.57.17) while 7 year old Will Stearns was within the top 16 in 3 separate events: 12th in the 25 back (23.44), 13th in the 25 fly (25.80) and 16th in the 25 free (19.56).

 

8 year old Richie Carchia, in his 1st attempt at the event, placed 14th in the 100 free (1.30.74). 8 year old Andy Fresen was 15th in the 50 fly (49.87).
